I only ask cos I think you guys will know the answer to this.

I have a road B175...top gear 4th performance is a bit flat...but 1st 2nd 3rd it goes like stink.

at around 45 it feels like its strangled...I was wondering if there is anything I can do to the baffles to help it breath.

As well as baffles...just behind them is a fixed plate with 2 holes in...the holes are quite small...I cant understand how all that gas can get through those 2 holes so fast with out choking the engine

I dont seem to be able to attach any pics of my baffles ect.

Nick.

Hello Nick,
Welcome to the Bantam forum, let us hope that your post is the first of many.
If you are having problems in posting pictures, and you are not alone in that, then get in contact with Edward Pickering, he is the acknowledged expert here in posting pictures and articles for forum members. I know that to be true for he has assisted me on numerous occasions and I am sure he will be pleased to help you out too.
I know what you mean about the thing feeling a bit flat, mine was very similar.

Some years ago I had a D14/4 that I used as a get to work and general hack machine and did a bit of mild tuning to the engine and exhaust pipe. After the barrel work and a new Todd head that, combined, pushed the comp ratio up to 10.5:1 with a .9mm squish band clearance I removed, a bit at a time, as much of the baffles and increased the perforated hole diameters, that would still allow for adequate silencing.

If you can get your pictures up, then we can go from there!

Regards, Trevor
