Would it be possible for someone to post an attachment of a colour copy of the old BRC logo somewhere on the site which would be suitable for downloading to enable  anyone who intends to parade a Bantam next year to get a tee shirt or bib printed to promote the Club's history. If the years the Club was active could be added it would be a bonus.

I hope to have a bike out for my son to parade and while I appreciate there is already a BRC logo on the home page, but being old and computer illiterate I haven't a clue how to remove the blue background.

Jim

Hi Dan

Many thanks for your advice. When I enlarged the image I noticed the'photo' seems to have been taken through glass as the background and logo colours are 'washed' in places which would be quite noticeable on  a tee shirt/bib area. I know it was a long time ago but does anyone have an unused one to copy?

Thanks again

Jim

I think the reason was that it was a trophy kept in a glass cage and the reflections cause the washyness. .

Them darned little chickens is vicous and you need to keep them locked up...

Hi Jimmie,

I have just had a quick look through my remaining Bantam stuff and found 3 of the old stickers you are looking for and 2 of the later style "BRC"

pm me your postal address and I'll pop one of each in the post to you FOC.. Glad to be of assistance in this matter.

Hi JB,

Good to hear from you.

Am getting along fine so far, apart from a lot of time being wasted on devices (email passwords, traffic apps disappearing  etc  etc)

Spoke to the Boiler on the telephone recently  - he is also enjoying his retirement working on those Alpha engines, well I think he said he was enjoying it......

Funny how there is so little time to get things done when one has all day for it.

Recently organised a table of 12 for the TT Riders luncheon.  I may have mentioned this elsewhere, but we had Dick (four-eyes) Hunter, Cliff (Tony) Jones, and Chris Newport on our table.   Also, Llewellyn Ranson was in attendance at the ripe old age of 99! There's a target to aim for!

PostSubject: Memories and time...   Bantam Racing Club logo Icon_minitimeMon Nov 21, 2016 4:56 am

Hi Peter!

Good to hear from you.
Yes, I find its Friday before I´ve got used to Monday. Time seems rushing by.

I try to keep away from, "I remember when .... " & "In my day..." and because its Germany I do quite well at it but when there´s a conversation involving Brits it all starts again.

The Boiler seems to be making a good job of the engiines -- he sent me a pic of the twin cylinder crankcase for which he made the mouldings... Clever old F..t!

Llewellyn Ranson at 99 not out -- that´s really something. Brother Humphry and Lewellyn were big noises in the chelmsford Club -- and I had the pleasure of helping both at Boreham when practising illegally. Pity about Humph but I guess that´s the historxy of the TT .... Chris Newport has a place in my heart because at Lydden when I couldn´t start the Boiler´s 250 ABS, Chris lent me his 6 cylinder Italian machine about 160cc I think ... (can´t remembrer which marque it was but it was frightenly quick) with gear change lever on the wrong side made for some hair-raising moments. Having never had any more on the rev counter than 9500 -- Andy´s Alpha -- it was fascinating to see 14,000rpm (Don´t tell him.... Chris said, not to rev above eleven and a half ... ) it was because of the brake being where the gear-change pedal should be. Dick H is also remebered for a different reason -- too long for here but also humerous -- and I hope he and brother Dave are keeping OK. Never got to know Tony Jones althouugh I may have been in a Bantam race with him.

Take care,
Go well and keep well,
John....
