Hello! are you the Merv who used to race a RSW Honda with Rick and I at Lincoln DMCLCC,
Formula5 and Retford DMCC and had a very short lived go on Ricks Bantam in 1986?

Regards Mike

Indeed Mike, I quit 125's at the end of 87 just before my second daughter arrived in this world.
Been racing an F350 sidecar for the past 2 years having great fun, 3rd in championship this year after far too many breakdowns, after the trophy next year though. If you would let me have your contact number by pm or whatever I would love to catch up with you. You, Rick and I had some fantastic dices I will not forget, nor will I forget the honour of being asked to ride Ricks bike in 86, sorry I seized it up, or did I?

Regards,

Merv

Hi Merv remember your first daughter in a stroller in the paddock, so she must be 26ish!
No it didn't seize! I think you were in 'Honda mode' changed down all the gears and it
spat you off! I then rode it in Rick's first ever memorial race (my bike punched a hole in the
cases when the g/box let go) where the gearstick snapped off!!

Didn't you race sidecars with your brother before you went 125?

I've sent you a pm .... Mike

Mellina will be 26 next week, I passengered sidecars from 77 to 84 mate, correct. I thought the gearbox seized on Ricks bike. Did you ride it on that very day when I should have?

And I think I won them all that day, just for your folks after the let-down with the Bantam Very Happy
And now I remember the commentator (the big, likeable local lad, gawd what was his name?) talking about the bike, the number, and how he suspected you might be on it on the grid before Rick's race Very Happy
