Derek, as you say,MK1 Amal 30mm, red venturi ( I think thats how it's spelt),red half Fred fairing, steel front wheel, steel tank,
water cooled, LE rad,No21 if all is correct then it is JS1 the Barry Messer bike with my water cooled motor. I'd like to know
where the pic was taken if at all poss.

I would to take this opportunity to relate to you an insert John put into his diary dated , Snetterton 5th March 1988. Very cold
and 10-15mph wind from north which does'nt effect speed down straight. Gearing feels about right. First race (open) disaster
total lack of spark, replace with old unit. Championship , only seven on the grid. Motor fires up well and get away in
fourth place (PJ in lead) I'm just behind Michael Powell on reed valve machine and Stephen Hall, close up on MP+SH but they
have a little extra in hand to catch them so finish fourth. Them were the days , keep up the enthusiasm and never giver up.

regards .
Les.
