 gearbox info required/ ignition types used

hi! been a couple of months since i wrote last about getting started,had a chat with a few bantam racing types,many thanks. progress is slow on my bike but we are moving forward. right , i have found remnents of a gearbox and wonder if any one can help me in telling me if it is sutible for racing the ratios are-

32 - 15
25 - 22
21 - 26

learning fast, what size final drive sprocket should be used to get started,as the rear sprocket

next topic is ignition what are people running,do people still use points!

any help gratefully recieved thanks ted

Hi Ted , you can use that gear cluster to get you up and running and
testing. It is a set from a later D7. The only common gear with a C/R
set is the 22t mainshaft slider. The 21-26t output pair could be used
on a 175 racer on certain circuits. Final drive sprockets anywhere
between 13,14,15,16, gearbox and 46 to 60 rear sprocket depending
on the rev's/state of tune. Look at the gearbox info on the main page.

Ignition - nobody uses points anymore. Research PVL, Electrexworld 176 and Rex Caunt Ignitions. PVL and Electrexworld will be cheaper.

thanks mike for your reply, work in progress a bit slow due to work commitments,i have been to a couple of mallory meetings in the past, kept a bit of a back seat really, had a good chat with tom at the jurby festival of speed in the isle of man when i was marshaling at the manx,had a few chats with jimmy rowbotham but i understand he has retired now through his work commitments but i am hoping to present a bike for racing sometime in the future,have mainly been in the trials riding groups before also on a bantam with some success.hopefully catch up with some of you next year for a chat at the circuts.thanks once again for your help and look forward to meeting you sometime ted.
