... Plus some good thinking and action by all governements of the world as to what can be done about it, Trevor!

Needs more than Band-Aid, stop-gap action to put it right and asking WHY ought to be delved into very deeply ....

Cheers!

What human beings do in the name of religion is the cause of the problem. Pray if you wish, but adding more religion to the mix ain't gonna help.

We are rightly outraged, but perhaps should not be surprised, history provides endless examples of man`s collective inhumanity to others. When people believe they have absolute knowledge, but that has no test in reality, this is how they behave. This is what men do when they aspire to the knowledge of gods, it is done by arrogance, it is done by dogma and it is done by ignorance.
Intolerance of the opinions of others can lead to exclusion and hurt, we must embrace in that most human of acts, we must reach out and touch people`s minds and hearts.

PostSubject: What i know of governements...   Pray for Paris Icon_minitimeTue Nov 24, 2015 10:41 pm

What i know of governemnts -- particularly German and British -- is that reaching out by the elite is only to feather the elite´s nest.

I went on several short-term assignments (organised by the German government)  to the African Continent , Yemen,  China and South Africa  on so-called engineering development and technical aid and feel sure -- now -- two decades later the reason was not just reaching out to help the poor but to improve big business between Germany and these under-privileged nations....   The gap twixt rich & poor is the problem -- with it ever widening which cannot be solved whilst the rich get wealthier...

But this is the BSA Bantam Racing as a special sort of web-site where we see the Japanese not as they were in the 40s -- or the Germans for that matter -- but as entrepreneurs who snatched away our -- and the German/Italian -- motorcycle making business with great  success although they did NOT know how to make a proper racing motorcycle...

I remember Dave Degens telling of how he went across because the Japanese were incapable of installing their latest engine in one of his frames. He laid the engine on íts side, on the floor, then the frame -- with wheels -- around it, blocked up the frame in varíous places then slipped in the mounting bolts, tightened and stood the bike upright....
Also remembered is the Grand Prix machine known as "The Duck" which several riders would not ride because it was TOO POWERFUL. Barry Sheene upset the Japenese engineers by installing a nine pound weight in frónt of the engine which kept the front down and enable him to win a championship.

Cheers!
