Hi guys, 99.9% sure now that I will build a Bantam over the winter with the target to be with you next spring.

Am starting from scratch and wondered if you could offer some advice about wheel rim and tyre sizes for a twin shock bike - what is commonly used? are you all running 520 cahins and sprockets?

Anybody selling a bike at the end of this season?

Cheers

Jamie

Hi Mr. Badgerman,
The majority of us run 18 inch wheels and the choice of tyres are now few.. Mainly Dunlop KR825 in either medium or soft compound.
Most new riders are setting up on 420 rear chains, but there are a few that still use the 415 versions. 420 chains are easier to get and easier to sort out sprockets for.
You should have got to a few meetings to get to know the riders as you will not be offered a bike unless you are reasonably well known.
Cheers,
Alan

Go 18inch WM1Front and WM2 Rear and Dunlop KR825 950 compound(soft front and rear). 17" rims have to be massive to suit the tyres availble and your unsprung weight is going to suffer.... Remember a bantam rear hub has to be used D7 10 14 B175 are 40 hole, D1 3 5 are 36 hole but should be avoided as very narrow shoes. Mike
