| Wanted 175 Race Engine or Hobby Engine Builder
Hi Guys, I’ve literally just taken delivery of B7 frame that I intend to build into to racer. This will be a bit of a long term project, but I hope to make a couple of the rounds next year. I have a lots of bits (all the bits) to source and/or make, and as you all know this is very time consuming. With a lot of other commitments in my live it would be good to buy an engine or part of an engine ready to go. Alternatively if there is anyone out there who would be interested in building an engine for me that would be amazing, I would obviously pay for all of the bits and work that needs doing time (not an unlimited budget, but don’t want to cut corners), and sure we could come to some arrangement for your. But hope that this could be a nice project for someone who likes to build but not so keen of racing themselves. Will try and post some pictures of progress when I get a bit further down the line, and sure I’ll have plenty more questions when I get into it.
I bought a D1 bantam in original condition a while ago and love it, however it is a bit slow; then I realised that you guys build racing versions and that really appeals to me, being an engineer at Aston Martin I love to design and tinker. And reading the useful and friendly posts on this forum tipped me over the edge!
Many Thanks Tony | |

| Thanks Robbie, I'll definitely try and get there to have a look around at some of the bikes and chat to the guys. What would be the best day to go?
Starting to get a good (I hope; please tell me if not) pile of bits now:
D7 frame. rd125 forks, front hub and front break. d1 rear hub. Pair of 36 hole alloy rims (will lace the up myself). Pair of cheap tyres for initial set up. D7 engine (standard and not quite complete, but should be a reasonable starting point).
I'm thinking about doing a mono shock rear end based on the original swing arm and pivot. Is this something commonly done? I can't see anything in the rules that prohibits it?
Thanks again Tony

| Hi Tony You have a problem D7-14 rear hub is the one you want, your problem is they are 40 hole not 36. So another rim or go with the really crap hub (D1). Ref forks mine are 30mm

| Thanks Mike/Robbie, I do actually have a D7 hub that came with the frame, but then found a cheap set of 36 hole rims on ebay (needed the front anyway) so then bought the older hub to suit.. My first mistake! I'll keep shopping... | |

| Hello Tony K. I see from your post you may build a mono shock frame, if you would like one I have one you can have. I did not build it and I've no idea who did, it needs some TLC but it's all there. It's all yours if you want it. No good sending me PMs as I don't know how to get into them but I live in Cheam, SM3 8EN.
Les 2012.

| I to am looking to join the ranks next year !
Ive the guts of a D7 engine and a basic frame. However, if anyone has either a complete 175 engined bike or rolling chassis and or complete engine they would like to sell the process would be simplified greatly !!
