| A great Bantam meeting was had by one and all at Cadwell Park over the weekend. It was more like a Bantam reunion Meeting with the likes of Former British Formula Bantam Champions Mick Cashmore, Terry Brown and Ken Wright in attendance. Ken and brother Jeff bringing out Ken's 125 and the Todd 191 after their 35 year slumber. Many thanks to Shirley Hudson for sorting the stand and selling t shirts and cups and various Bantam folk for the donation of champagne for the Trophy presentations...
Dan or Edward can you upload whatever from the Facebook site please.... :-) | |

| THe 2nd video - BSA Bantam racing Advert ... This needs to be promoted as much as possible it really does the cause a big favour, consequently we need to share as much as we can. I will do my bit, where and when I can, with it being a YouTube video and so easily accessible. I just wish I had not been working last weekend, it looked like a fabulous weekend at Cadwell.

Also great to see Two Stroke wizard Terry Beckett ( I showed my other cylinder ) and former Bantam pilot Stevie (Wonder) Hall..
Anyone that has seen the promo video (Advert) Former Bantam Champions Terry Brown 1977 and Brian White 1991,92 were presenting the trophies... and something to look forward to Derek Betts is doing the next Promo (he says it will be even better!)

| What great pictures, only wish I was there with you all along with JS2. When I was a youthful man the average bantam was, take off the road bits, change a few bits, reverse the tank, do something in the barrel and race it. Now look at them --a real race breed of "Bantam", so many different idea's and not a scruffy looking one amongst them. "The Bantam is alive and well". Keep it up lads. JS2, the bicycle bits are finished, I await the new liner then off to the dyno man to tell me where I've got it all wrong.
See you all next year I hope.

| Thanks Mike!
Its good to see so many enthusiaststic people and good looking machines there at Cadwell -- I look at Icarus-1´s Avatar on here and think it time to remove such a cheapo looking heap -- compared with here-and- now we were crude and ignorant and seeing your video of the rev-counter zipping up to 11000 plus had me creased-up with envy because I spent most of Cadwell´s Club Curcuit slipping the clutch with 8400 on the clock.
Makes me feel good that Bantam Racing continues...
I was at Mary & Pete Styles, Lydden do in 2005 and suddenly realize that is ten years ago .... Where´d the time go? yet Mary is still doing what she did well when we were on the committee together...
All the best!
Cheers!

| Hi John just for ref 11k in top is 100mph.. This goes to show you don't need a 13'000 misile to win the Bantam championship just a good old skool engine based on keep it simple values. This engine was build by Tom Miller in 1978 for Pete Styles to win 3 championships and is still winning championships 37years later. Mary and Pete were at Lydden in July but not present at Cadwell. That said Cadwell was an excellent meeting and was more like a Bantam reunion event with 5 bottles of Champagne being popped for various awards over the weekend... This was the best Bantam meeting I have ever been to in 35 consecutive years.. I don't think it will ever be topped? But we can try.. | |

| Wünderbar Mike! Thank you.
Great! Wonderful!
100 mph on the Post Office Hack -- I got a little bit more out of Andy´s 250ABS and BRC led me into that for which I am thankful.
I was only a dabbler at the racing bit and never really a road racer -- although I did have those fantastic moments, on and off the asphalt -- I felt I´d let down the BRC when I resigned the BRC Chair and galloped off to Canada in a state of greed and want of loftier status but Wobbleyman (Colin Aldridge) reckoned everything with the committee was still going well without me.
I reckon bits of old Icarus-One and maybe bits of Icarus-2 are still in use out there somewhere so I shall leave the Avatar of Icarus-One up there to point out how bad things were in the Good Old Days.
Must´n´t mention the cost -- of course!
More power to the Powell elbow....
Tha´s doin´ a greet job there lad!***
Go well and keep well...
JayBee.

| Second Thoughts Mike, an engine 37 years old -- unchanged -- and still going so well ...?
As I understand it on here the Old-Fashioned ideas need to be shelved for the new ...
...Manual... with its modern moments of 13,000 rpm -- WITH RELIABILITY?....
Eh oh!
Time to go and watch football on the telly,
Cheers!
