hello all fellow bantam enthusiasts,
Just a quick note to all on here, I'm afraid I have some very sad news, namely the passing of Les Eggs.
I have never written a note like this on Facebook or indeed any web site or any other place come to think of it , and I have to say its a lot harder than I thought it would be and I genuinely have a lump in my throat as I type, I have been told that thankfully Les suffered only a short illness.
I had the pleasure of calling Les a friend, I got to know Les through the bantam racing and meeting him after he gave me(yes gave me ) a new fairing, screen and other parts for my build after he had seen my posts on the old forum of me building my first bike, a really great gesture from someone who'd never even met me before, it made my day when I picked up the parts and showed the what made bantam class what it is undoubtedly most known for by anyone who wanders into it , a class of guys who are there to truly help one another to give and share the knowledge to give the time and understanding that sets us apart from many others,
Les had many years in the bantam class and had a gift for quality and a true engineers eye for detail that showed in his immaculately prepared bikes, I count myself fortunate to have known him if only for a 5 or 6 years, I know he will be missed by many friends and family, my deepest condolences to them all , and hope you have many chances to think back fondly, I know I do.
many thanks dan
