HI All,

I have found a racer that has been stood for nearly 20 yrs.
It is a 125 - I think and I will be stripping down next week.
It has a Gardener carb
Honda front end with a single leading shoe front brake
It is unual as it has a mono shock rear end
The fairing number is 64
The fairing and tank is line green.
The tank is fiberglass and large probaly from a Norton.
It has an exhaust with a moder type pes shooter end.

I will provide pictures as soon as I have collected it.

Any idea who may have raced it.

Paul Brown

PS any more machines out ther that need refurbishing as I have more interest in the Bantam racing project.

Wünderbar!
Can't put a name to it. Fairing? Must be AFTER early 70's... Ned probably knows.
Paul, that is great... Go for it!
That there are people like you who might keep the Bantam Racing Banner flying for a few more years yet makes my old pulse beat faster.
It's 'cos my memories are so vivid of it all. Now -- I know it was an experience not to be missed. Like having a 'good-hot-dinner' -- if you've never had IT you don't know what you've missed.
All the best, JayBee.
P.S. What a precious thing Gravity is...we'd all be rushing off into space
without it... JB.

Fraid not John. At first I thought 'lime green, sounds like Webbys' but not with a mono shock!
Love to see picks. Ned

Definately not Webby's bike Ned, i knew that intinately, fell off at Cadwell and pushed home to tenth at Snetterton, lovely machine though, Webby knew how to build em. It looked like a Yam from a distance because of the fairing etc., this machine can in no way be confused, believe me. Saying that, i believe it has potential in the right "engineering" hands. I believe Paul's crowd should be able to do something with it.

Yep new that from the description. Unless someone fitted a mono shock later. I also had a spin on Keith's bike.
Strange combination of old and new thinking this one.
Mono shock frame but drum brake and mechanical rev counter!!!!

PostSubject: Ned's bike? - Sorry Ned? My mistake...   Bantam Racer Icon_minitimeTue May 29, 2007 8:20 pm

Hi Ned!
Sorry! I'd not seen the picture when I said it might have been yours.
Rough looking heap -- couldn't be... If I'd been scrutineering I'd have thrown it out.
Weird set-up at the back end -- surely not within formula...? Or is it?
Like I said once before -- I scrutted twice and found a broken frame
each time. At the top of the swinging-arm lug, the saddle down tube
cracks... When it is cracked all round the frame is held together by the fairing screws. After that it shows up clearly by a red-rust ring...
OK! So I was always making a fuss...
Go well & keep well!
Aye! JB for John-Boy!
