Hi All and Derek,
The bolts are to act as stops and adjusters for the movement of the gear selector claw. They stop any excess movement that would make the selector quadrant throw too far over when your foot gets too excited to be careful with your gear changing! Reducing miss gear changes in a race. You can adjust and get it just right to suit your box, then re-adjust if wear takes place in future.
Seems to work well, so it is a good modification to do.

Cheers,
Alan

The Bantam flywheels look to be non-racing type -- around twice the sizes recently quoted...

Yeah! I know -- the racing flywheels are skimmed down to 96mm & 136mmm but I am being blood-minded because the title included "...Racing Secrets" and there by the grace of Gott is a HEAVY Crankshaft & BIG flywheels.
Standard Post Office equipment, I suppose?

Wonderful transfers though!!

Good Evening all,

the gear selector mod sounds a good idea, are many people running this?

Hi Ed,
this does seem to be a good mod i have it in my reed valve motor but not in the water cooled, dont worry about doing it straight away in a new build as standard selectors work fine. Its more of a belt and braces type mod so you can fine tune the amount of movement of the shaft .hope this helps a little.
all the best Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks for that as it does help, maybe something to look at with spares when its up and running.

Kind Regards
