| Hi Guys. My name is Colin I am a self employed engineer. My first encounter with “The Bantam” was at the age of 14, passed my test on a 175 at 16, at 17 tried to build the fastest Bantam going, I failed but I still have the engine. I my early 20’s another 125 and chassis, I still have them too. Motor bikes have always played a part of my life; I sold my ZX7R last year after deciding that there were too many motorist trying to kill me, riding a bike was no longer fun. I have a number of questions to ask, the answers will decide my next move. 1 How old is too old to race. 2 Is there an age limit to when you can start to race or apply for a license. Depending the above. 3 Where can I get current regulations. 4 Where can I get modern tuning information 5 Where can I get racing parts I have engines with close ratio gearbox’s and Todd heads, One engine I made into a short stroke with Yamaha conrod and piston and motorplat ignition. Sorry it is so much for a first posting.

| Good Evening Colin,
Welcome to the site, we are new to this ourselves but will try to help.
My Dad is 64 and has just got his licence
The current regulations and tuning are on the main site and split between 175 and 125 depending on which way you go.
Wiith regards to parts i would say the best idea is to get to a race meeting and chat to the gents when they arent busy, nice bunch of people and will always wlling to help.
Hope that helps a little bit.
Kind Regards
Edward and Malcolm Pickering

Last time I was there it was all GRASS... and Derek Yorke, Chelmsford & District MC&C Club won the ACU Sidecar-Grass-Track-Championship --- -- full of beer, on my little RE Flea I fell alsleep and woke up in a ditch somewhere in Hertfordshire --- That after celebrating in a pub, somewhere near Mallory -- on the way home....

| Hi Eddie. Today I died and went to heaven, saw some great 2/3 wheeled speed machines, and meet some great petrol heads and cannot wait for the next encounter. The wheels are in motion.

| Hi Colin,
We were round chatting to the bantam guys but trying not to get in the way as a few were in bits. The best program to use i have found is one called photobucket which you can set up an account and then copy and paste them straight to here. Not to sure if we are going to cadwell yet but hope to.
Kind Regards

| Good for Ian -- that´s all I wanted to know Ed. Ian should about do the championship this year and he deserves it .... Sort of out of things -- stuck here in Germany -- I´m sure Colin won´t mind me taking up a bit of his space....
Thanks, JayBee... | |

| Should I dare to ask who was 2nd & 3rd in the Bantam races at Mallory... or should I be treated as an ancient Old Git, to be treated as a mushroom -- kept hidden in the dark....?? Cheers! A.O.G.... | |
