| Hi Ian Hopefully, if all goes to plan I will be at Mallory with the 175, if it doesn’t then on a 125. The neighbors should hear the testing in January (if they are lucky)

| Subject: IoM Ian...! Fri Dec 09, 2011 9:20 pm | |
| Ian! Re the IoM -- I gave Alan my latest news on this to give to you because I thought I´d been drummed-out of this web-site but I think its susssed out WHY I sometime get logged-OUT and it is to do with Caps Lock which is of course using capital letters .... big No No!
So to let everybody know what I know so far -- I am stll waiting for the contact at Southern 100 to reply... Jurby airfield circuit which is www.andreasracing.com have 7 meetings lined up for 2012 but the smallest class is 400 and NO 2-Strokes ...
Southern 100 have a `National Road Races´ on the 4.25 mile Jurby South Road circuit National level --(provides a succcessor to the Southern 100 races) that will be on July 18th 2012. There are 3 races -- massed start -- Race 1, --250/600cc; Race 2, -- 125/400cc & Race 3 - 1000cc Class. The second race being 125cc/400cc is interseting in that they state their interest is to keep the 2-stroke class alive so maybe they´d welcome Racing Bantams.
Then there´s the Pre-TT Classic Friday 25th thro´to Monday 28th 2012 on the Billown circuit -- down by Castletown -- http.:/www.southern100.com (they´ve yet to answer my e-Mail!)... Race 3 Lightweight might be 125s but they don´t state capacity -- just says Lightweight...
Then there´s the Southern 100Road Races -- whether BILLOWN or JURBY ROAD circuiit is not stated -- neither the date but the three races are as in the National Solo....
I´ll let you know when I hear something... Cheers!

| Subject: PS -- Jurby for a day... Fri Dec 09, 2011 10:33 pm | |
| PS -- Just been talking to Slick who reckons the Jurby Road curcuit -- andreasracing.com -- road needs repair, got dangerous -- and is not certain when they´ll get it organised again but he suggested that if there are enough Bantam racers wanting it they could hire Jurby (the ex airfield) circuit for the day. I said yeah but the Bantams want to race and he suggested that if enough Historic/ Classic riders can club together, hire the circuit for a couple of days then it could be a programme of Classic/Historic races -- which the organisers at Jurby would probably go along with...
So it rather looks as if it needs a bit of organising-- and enough participants???.
Or -- Loosely, it could be: say if only a small number were available -- say 5 Bantam riders -- could hire the circuit for a day -- of so called practice -- and actually be racing....!!??
-- OR it´d have to be done thro`the VMCC ...
But that is the crux of it all:-
having enough Vintage, Classic/Historic racers to have an informal (nothing to do with the Mainland championship series) race meeting??
He has promised to ring me back -- maybe with something more promising -- but the attitude of no 2-strokes at Jurby doesn´t seem so fixed after all!!

| Subject: Jurby Circuit hire... Fri Dec 09, 2011 11:26 pm | |
| The cost of hiring Jurby curcuit for the day Slick said would be around 700quid. That´s cheap, he reckoned. He said he´d been paying over a thousand in England when he had a team... Well, if you have 14 riders its only 50 quid apiece -- -- I wonder if even 7 could be raised ???
Do it cheaper on a normal bike practice day of course -- could probably get the organisers to restrict a session for Bantams Plus Vintage bikes only -- and that arrangemnt would also cost a bit but might be the closest compromise to being practical.
So, I think the next best idea is to find out:- How many Bantams would participate? How many vintage bikes would be prepared to join in the fun? If there´s enough then approach the Jurby organisers and ask what it would cost to have say two periods during one of their general practice days where you´d get say a half-hour practice in the early morning -- and then another half-hour period, in the afternoon, in which you could actually be (informally racing) again practising.
The organisers might be persuaded to make it longer than half hour sessions ...?ß
That sounds illegal according to the higher authorities but if its termed something like, "Two -- Practice sessions for Bantam & Vintage Machinmes Only ..." who´d know??
The Brands practice days were sometimes a Bantam racing a Dominator or some Production bike so what would be the difference?? And I was repeatedly told -- `This is only testing and practice -- YOU KNOW!!´

| Any time ed we don't bite in our camp (strested yes) so with your dad and Colin that's 2 so far for newcomers I'm sure there are more to come. Yes Ned he made an appearance at lydden a few weeks ago on my 2008 a/c and has spent the last few weeks non stop on computer/workshop getting ready for next year has bought leathers and a few rolling parts so I guess that makes 3 newcomers |

Wow that's magic. I'm glad I'm older and heavier than him or he would be trying to convince me to join him. But I will certainly be making more of an effort to get to some meetings to cheer him on.
