Glad to hear Phils in good spirits, I was a bit concerned that a long stay in hospital in Wigan would have him converted from pasties to Poole's pies, hopefully that wont be the case.

Also my congratulations to Chris on his win in the Tom Miller.

Mike.

Here's hoping all goes well with Phil's op on his hand. Also to Mike Powell, who is investigating an quicker fix for his fractured clavicle sustained on Saturday.

And congratulations to Mr Bennion's excellent fooling of the handicapping team to win the Tom Miller trophy.

Thanks Ted , Mike and Pete. Pete's rumbled me.... Actually, I handicapped myself somewhat with only 1st and 2nd gears usable. An enormous rear sprocket is now on the shopping list for future 3 Sisters jaunts! Sorry Steve broke his left clip-on during this race - at times we were so close we were almost cuddly during the Sunday races!
Thanks Russ for some great pics. That big bucks lense really does the business...
Hope Mike and Phil both make speedy recoveries.
Roll on Cadwell.
Chris Very Happy

Heres hoping from me that Mike and Phil mend rapidly and we see you all at Caddy (one way or another).
Well done Chris, and I will be speaking to you regards the sprockets!
and well done Pete for getting to the races on Sunday, I know all too well how hampered you were!
See you all at caddy

An extra to my last post... I have just spoken to Phil Betty who says to tell everyone that he is doing fine, and his hand is going to work ok, however he is at this present time held together with his dads mecano kit and he is threatening to put his ex-rays up on the forum (yuck).
He will be in the paddock at Lydden for certain, and will be back on board as soon as possible!
Must be OK then!!!
Good on yer Phil

My news is i should be at cadwell - as I went to Ipswich for magnetic pulse treatment + laser work on my collarbone on Monday and came out minus sling and drove my dad 150miles home.
I went to bed and Phil texted me at 3 in the morning to let me know how he was doing... Take it easy Phil..

hi, making a recovery don't know how speedy it will be, I will keep you posted of progress thanks for everyone's concerns. Hope mike makes cadwell but I will not be able to make it. I hope to be able to see you all at Lyden (spectating). In the meantime I will annoy you all on the forum as I will have plenty of time on my hand!! am trying to get x-ray of my pinned/plated hand as it is quite a feat of engineering.

Dear John,

Many thanks for your kind enquiry as to reasons for my non-appearance at Three Sisters on the saturday. Thank goodness we are not on start money these days.

I had discoverd that my engine needed a complete bottom end rebuild rather late in the day. A microscopic particle of bronze coloured material embedded in the squish band of the cylinder head led me to believe that I was "pushing it" to take my big end bearing beyong 1500 racing miles. On separating the flywheels my suspicions were jusitfied - cage broken into 3 pieces. The subsequent rebuild (using my ex Martin Perry of the Eastern Centre hydraulic press) took longer than I had anicipated, then at work a major issue blew up and as my boss was on vacation I had to handle it, and couldnt take the friday off. Result = engine finished 4pm saturday.
But it was a good one - the rebuild! PS Old Four Eyes and his bro are looking at Lydden on triangulars.......Yours in sport

Jonah

Hi all. Just a quick note to let you know things are still going well with me. Still a bit tender but definately improving. Do need at least 1 more op which should happen next week. I do still intend to get back on track before end of season if all goes well, but will be in paddock before.Look forward to seeing you all.
