This is for John Sendall and any other interested parties... my advise is don't mod anything until you
have a problem!! As a mod can sometimes create a problem (at first).
This is the selector mod where the weak spring dished washer(or washers) pin with hole and roll pin
are replaced with:- 7mm grond down shank bolt, short tube brazed to fixed selector plate over which a std bant clutch spring and washer/nut are used. If 7mm is to small in the selector pivot holes it will tend to jump out of gear. If 7mm is to big you can't get it out of a gear. Hence why I needed a 7.15mm pin over the closed season. 003 went from jumping out of every gear(had to be held in with foot) to not able to get out of bottom gear...nothing is easy....
Couldn't show you mod in detail as time was short, and 001 was having a major service - conrod/big end assy, piston, mains all 2, g/box bearings all 5 plus broken gear replacement....
